This week I received an e-mail from CO8LY,
Eduardo is looking for 572 B tubes for his linear amplifier YAESU FL 2100 that he can't use for now...
If anyone can help, it would be a very nice Christmas for him !
Feel free to contact directly Eduardo on his e-mail...

Hi all, all is OK again, I could repair my vertical HF3B with a new insulator...
It is now strongly shrouded in the ground...
and I also put my 5 elements 6M up the Optibeam...
I finished to erect correctly the vertical just before the night... rocking again !
All antennas are switched with the Ameritron RCS-10VX => one coaxial to the shack...

Hi, today we had strong winds in France, unluckily for me, my HF3B vertical didn't appreciate it very much...
It certainly falled on the Optibeam which was down the pylon, and the upper 1/3 of the vertical is now looking like a lucky fishing rod !
The base in teflon broke, I think I have another one in stock, I will look at this in hurry. It is the second time these teflon insulators break ! Next will be stronger than originals for sure !
To be repaired...

Hi, this was a long time I talked about a new antenna for HF... it is done since this week beginning with the arrival of the Optibeam OB9-5 model (9 elements 5 bands 20-17-15-12-10M) !
Last Tuesday, I disassembled my TH3MKIII from the pylon...
...and started the OB9-5 :
It took me more than 6 hours to do all (alone), just before rain, and tried it immediately for ST0R chase !
The SWR measures announced are exactly what I have @ 12m. up and firsts contacts (only DX-Peditions for now) are more than decisive !
Thanks Tom DF2BO @ Optibeam for nice antenna & very positive e-mails exchanges (this OB9-5 model had to fit my 60cm pylon and an easy solution of moving only one element was found quickly after computer simulations)...
I'll take sunny photos later, now time to work DX !

Hi all,
(I am in Paris till January 19th, so sorry if not much new articles during this period... )
Here are some photos of my actual radials' system, 24 x 24M in >< configuration...
I could notice a perfect SWR of 1.0 and a very low X, with R=50 on 3.500MHz, the noise is a little reduced.
On 40M the SWR is about 1.6, X is higher and R is about 36. The ICOM 7600 tuner does the job...
This radial system was installed "in hurry" for ZL8X chase, and give me very good results with my 100W.
Next spring, when beautiful days will be back, I will have to make turn the ground and to sow the lawn, then I will add 24 radials more, it will be a 48 x 24M radials system.

Hi all !
Yes, finally it's done ! My 12m. pylone is up, my HF3B vertical too, and I cutted 48 x 48m. radials for it !
I actually only put 4 radials for test, I will correctly match the vertical tomorrow and maybe start the Cubical Quad...
Let's see some photos :
Preparation for the HF3B
The vertical is 13 meters from the pylone
Some radials... (even in the trees ! )
The Pylone
Views of pylone & HF3B
Some reports from RBN...
To be continued.
