south sudan field

Many of us are looking how to add actual ST0R DX-Pedition with the right new Country name...

As the latest update didn't include it yet, here's how to do this :

- 1 Select menu Tools> Database Maintenance> Country/Prefix Maintenance

- 2 In the "Country Database maintenance", scroll down and click on Southern Sudan (deleted 31-Dec-1994)

- 3 Change "Prefix" field to "ST0\SS"

- 4 Change "ADIF #" field to 521

- 5 Uncheck the box marked "deleted"

- 6 Change "Country" field to "South Sudan (added 14-Jul-011)"

- 7 Click on "Add" button just below the word "Latitude"

- 8 In the alternative prefixes field (with small downward triangle), type exactly "ST0R" and click on the "Add" button on the same row

- 9 Close the "Coutry Database" window

- 10 Select menu Tools> Database Maintenance> Recalculate statistics (click on "Recalculate" !)

That's it, you now have the new South Sudan prefix on your favourite logger program, until the next update !

Many thanks to LZ1VB, VU2PTT and the hamlogger forum community where I found this tip ! I thought it would interest some of you...

Special thanks to YL2JZ bringing me my worked DXCC #39 on 6M !

5 new gridsquares were also added, so 149 is the actual score on the Magic Band...

ST0R-LOGO.JPG

Continuing my chase of this new DXCC, I finally heard & worked them on 10M CW today, but now that the log is updated, this QSO is missing... Also I worked them 2 days ago on 40M CW but they finally logged a bad call, tnx to QRMers / Lids / . So I will try to get them again before the end of the week... I didn't try anything yet on low bands till now because of huge pile-ups for KW stations and "lottery split", but pile-ups are still heavy from 30M to 80M ! Wait and see, to be a barefoot station in these conditions is not good for health...

Hi, as most of actual DX-Peditions are contacted, I decided to give a try on 6M this afternoon, hearing GB3LER beacon 559, I beamed N/NW and called CQ... a big 39dB report on GW8IZR skimmer but nobody answered !

Later, beaming NE/E I have been first spotted by 9A5CW...

...and then could log EI7IX, OK2BUT, EI4DQ, GM4ZMK and HA1WA... Upgrading my worked gridsquares on 6M band to 134.

Thanks guys for calling me and QSOs !

The 6M beam will join the Optibeam later : winds still cause damages to its mast...
