That's over !! NH8S finally go QRT earlier due to physical (tired OMs, mosquitos, sunburns) & technical (salt walter & connections) problems. I was right yesterday thinking my 15M RTTY QSO should be the last one !!

LOG-NH8S-final.jpg

So 11 QSOs for this ATNO (All Time New One), no opening on 10M & no big signal on 30M here, 40M was really too weak, 80M no chance for EU at this period of the year... Some strange decisions at EU sunsets, well... thanks a lot guys for this activity, DXers' community will need another activation of this DXCC in the future years I believe !

Hi all, this morning I was again QRV for 30M & 40M but they were only QRV on 40M CW, and at EU SS, they asked for NA only

Well, in these conditions, and for a time LIDs were still in their bed, it will be difficult to add a low band...

So I concentrated on upper bands, where 10M would be the last one but even if there was a nice opening to EU yesterday evening, not a beep here, only some bursts sometimes... this morning (they were QRV 10M CW), nothing heard, while central EU & south EU got them with nice signals.

Then a JA spotted NH8S on 15M RTTY, good ! a potential new slot... They are 599 ! 2-3 minutes studying the split, and some minutes later in the log... 11th QSO ! Not so bad for an ALL TIME NEW ONE here...

NH8S-15M-RTTY.jpg

It was maybe my last QSO with them as holidays are now over, time to go back to job soon...

The log is updated :

Good luck to all !

Hi all, still chasing these NH8S...

2 days ago I could log them on 20M RTTY for a new slot, missed them again in the morning many times on 30M CW these last days (too many callers for my tuned vertical) but who knows ?

NH8S-20M-RTTY.jpg

2 days ago again, I monitored all the evening their 12M SSB QRG waiting for them, I started listening to them extremely weak : they were having a long QSO with a NA station during some minutes, and, when their signal grewed up in EU, only a few callers simplex then up 5, in the split I now only hear Paul F6EXV calling with me, Paul is logged, some calls later, it's my turn, this guy is "Dumbo eared" : I gave 5/5 but it was more 2/0 to 3/1 !!   Another new slot, 9th QSO...

LOG-NH8S-3.jpg

Yesterday morning, I was QRV on 40M & 30M CW, they were here ! Bad luck, NA & EU too... HI. It's SS here & SR in Swains, signals are ok on 30M & readable on 40M when no QRMers : they are still working NA NA & NA, then go QSY 40M SSB, 80M CW & 160M CW at the best moment Another morning on low bands for nothing...

I was monitoring 20M SSB QRG since 2 days, but RTTY only (599+ all mornings long here).

Today finally they are on 20M SSB !! 1h calling then they called by numbers, that was my chance in this crazy pile-up ! Waiting again 30 minutes to "8's" and I am logged at my second call !! 10th QSO, that was hard !

Later in the morning they are on 30M CW but too late, they are also on 10M CW but too weak actually.

To be continued...

Good luck to all !

Hi, yesterday evening big signal on 12M CW as I hoped it the day before when I heard them on 12M SSB !

15 minutes and in the log ! My 4th band, thanks !

LOG-NH8S-2.jpg

This morning I heard them on 30M CW (335) and in 40M SSB (but veeeery weak), but it was school time for children so had to go out, maybe tomorrow if QRV.

Now looking for them on 12M & 20M SSB for new slots, and dreaming of a 10M opening !

Good luck to all...

Hi, the NH8S chase continues here...

The first day I could log them 3 times on 20M CW, 17M CW & 15M SSB. Yesterday evening on 15M CW but with a weak signal.

All these QSOs are ok in the online log :

LOG-NH8S.jpg

This morning big fight (Sunday !!) on 17M SSB : one hour calling before being answered but ok !

I could listen to them yesterday evening on 12M SSB so I hope to log them at least in CW for another new band, the other bands seem to be impossible mission at this period of the year for Western EU... Wait & see...

Good luck to all !

D64K LOGO

Hi, this is simply a great final on the HF bands for me with finally the 80M band added this night !!!

A lot of patience and very good ears needed on this one !!

Only some EU were logged then it was NA at their G line... Oufff !

Three days ago I was really sure I couldn't work them on 40M/80M because of their weak signal here, but being in the right place at the right time did the job ! Tnx guys !

D64K-LOG-4.jpg

It was also the last chance for me on 6M where again not a beep here today... bad luck : I won't have another chance => the blog is now QRX one week for holidays !

Good luck to all !

Hi, this night I finally could add the 40M CW slot for a new band !!

Awake again very early (0100UTC) because (thanks to) of my son, I could work them up 1 (!) on their beginning on this band...

D64K-LOG-3.jpg

Yesterday evening, I missed them again on 6M : still no opening here, while -again- most of EU could hear them strongly

Good luck to all !

Hi all, the D64K chase continues...

I managed to add the 17M (CW + SSB), 20M (CW + SSB) band & 17M RTTY + 15M RTTY for a new mode, I heard them many times on 40M & 80M but their signal is very weak here (while most EU announce nice reports... ) and they never stay a lot, or QRT/QSY when signal peaks... add to this QRMers ! Oh well, the highers bands are done, very good for me as a new one...

15M RTTY QSO :

D64K-RTTY.jpg

Well, I am now looking at them on 6M, still not heard here, I hope an opening to SW France... wait & see !

Good luck to all !
